Eyjafjörður is the longest fjord in Iceland, stretching deep into North Iceland and creating a striking contrast between towering mountains and calm coastal waters. Formed by massive glaciers during the last Ice Age, the fjord today feels peaceful and expansive, offering wide horizons and a sense of stillness rarely found elsewhere.

Along its shores lie small fishing villages and farmland, where life has long been connected to the sea. The town of Akureyri, often called the “Capital of the North,” sits at the inner end of the fjord, blending urban life with dramatic natural surroundings.
