Accommodation: Hotel Island or similar
Enjoy a free day exploring Reykjavík at your own pace. Stroll along Laugavegur and Skólavörðustígur for shopping, cafés, and local crafts, and visit the iconic Hallgrímskirkja Church for panoramic city views. Choose from excellent museums and galleries such as the National Museum, Reykjavík Art Museum, or National Gallery, or unwind like a local at Reykjavík’s famous geothermal swimming pools, including Laugardalslaug. Your hotel is centrally located, with easy access to attractions by foot or public bus.

Driving Distance: About 350km, ~ 6 hours
Departing Reykjavík at 8:00 a.m., we explore Iceland’s iconic Golden Circle, starting at Þingvellir National Park, where the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and the world’s oldest parliament meet. We continue to the Geysir geothermal area to watch Strokkur erupt, followed by the mighty Gullfoss Waterfall, where glacial waters thunder into a dramatic canyon. The journey then heads along the South Coast, stopping at the majestic Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, before reaching Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach with its basalt columns and Reynisdrangar sea stacks. We end the day at a country hotel in Kirkjubæjarklaustur, with an optional Northern Lights hunt in winter months.

We journey through surreal landscapes to reach Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park. Along the way, you'll catch glimpses of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, home to the infamous Katla volcano, and the mighty Eyjafjallajökull. Crossing the vast Eldhraun lava field, we arrive at Skaftafell, a green oasis surrounded by black volcanic sands. Its sheltered location allows lush vegetation and birch forests to thrive. We then continue to the iconic Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where icebergs drift serenely before washing ashore at Diamond Beach, creating a striking contrast against the black sand. Overnight in Southeast Iceland, with opportunities to hunt for the Northern Lights in winter if conditions allow.

Today, we travel through Iceland’s dramatic Eastfjords, winding along narrow coastal roads between towering mountains and fjords, passing the remote Hvalnes Peninsula. We stop at Djúpivogur, a charming fishing village known for its eco-friendly community and the famous Eggin í Gleðivík stone sculptures, then continue to Egilsstaðir, the largest town in East Iceland along the Lagarfljót River. The day concludes at the Wilderness Center, where you’ll explore historic farmhouses, enjoy locally sourced meals, and relax in a traditional hot spring bath. Overnight accommodations are at the Center, with opportunities to view the Northern Lights in winter (September–April).

Driving Distance: About 200km, ~ 3.5 hours
Today, we explore North Iceland’s natural wonders, beginning with the striking Stuðlagil Canyon, famed for its towering basalt columns above turquoise waters. We then visit the steaming, colorful Námaskarð geothermal area before continuing around volcanic Lake Mývatn, dotted with over 50 small islands. Next, we admire the eerie lava formations of Dimmuborgir, known as the “Dark Castles,” and the majestic Goðafoss waterfall, the “Waterfall of the Gods.” The day ends in Akureyri, with opportunities to chase the Northern Lights in winter.
Myvatn Nature Baths are not included in the package and must be paid for separately as an optional extra.
From Jan–Mar 2026, we’ll visit Forest Lagoon instead of Mývatn Nature Baths, which will be closed for renovations.

Today, we travel along Eyjafjörður Fjord, enjoying scenic coastal views and charming fishing towns. We continue to Siglufjörður, the historic herring capital, then drive around the dramatic Tröllaskagi Peninsula, stopping at scenic points in Skagafjörður along the way. The day ends in the farming village of Laugarbakki, where, in winter, you may hunt for the Northern Lights.

On the final day, we explore West Iceland, starting with a short hike to Grábrók volcanic crater for panoramic views, then visiting Reykholt to see Snorralaug, the historic geothermal pool of saga writer Snorri Sturluson. Next, we witness the immense power of Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring, before marveling at the cascading Hraunfossar and nearby Barnafoss waterfalls. We continue to Sturlureykir Horse Farm to meet Icelandic horses, then drive back to Reykjavík via scenic Hvalfjörður, arriving around 5–6 p.m.
