Driving Distance: About 380km, ~ 6 hours
Start the day with pick-up in Reykjavík and explore the Golden Circle, visiting Þingvellir National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site and site of the world’s oldest parliament), the geothermal Geysir area with erupting Strokkur, and the powerful Gullfoss waterfall. Continue along the South Coast to Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind the cascade, then Skógafoss for rainbows over the 60-meter drop, and finally Reynisfjara black sand beach with its basalt columns and Reynisdrangar sea stacks. Overnight at a country hotel near Kirkjubæjarklaustur, with tips for spotting the Northern Lights (Sept–Apr).

After breakfast and hotel check-out, journey along Iceland’s South Coast toward Skaftafell and Vatnajökull National Park, home to Hvannadalsnúkur, Skaftafell, and the iconic Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Continue to Diamond Beach, where icebergs rest on black volcanic sands, creating a sparkling spectacle. Overnight at a cozy Southeast seaside town, with opportunities to spot the Northern Lights in winter.

Departing Vatnajökull National Park, travel through the scenic East Fjords, passing quiet coastal villages and steep mountains. Stop at Djúpivogur, a small fishing village known for its birdlife and eco-friendly community, and at Egilsstaðir by the Lagarfljót River, famous for the legendary Lagarfljót Worm. Continue to the Wilderness Center, an interactive historical site offering hiking, biking, and horse riding, with free museum access. Cross a historic wooden bridge to your charming accommodation, enjoy locally prepared meals, and relax in the hot spring spa. In winter, this remote location provides excellent opportunities to see the Northern Lights.

Travel from East to North Iceland through wild, remote landscapes, starting with the striking Stuðlagil Canyon (winter access dependent). Continue to the geothermal area of Námaskarð near Lake Mývatn, with colorful mud pools and steaming fumaroles, then explore the volcanic scenery around Lake Mývatn. Optional relaxation at Earth Lagoon (or Forest Lagoon in Jan–Mar 2026) is available. Visit the dramatic Dimmuborgir lava formations and the majestic Goðafoss waterfall before arriving at a country hotel in Akureyri, where winter evenings offer potential Northern Lights viewing.
Myvatn Nature Baths are not included in the package and must be paid for separately as an optional extra.
From Jan–Mar 2026, we’ll visit Forest Lagoon instead of Mývatn Nature Baths, which will be closed for renovations.

After breakfast in Akureyri, drive along Eyjafjörður Fjord with stunning views, continue through charming villages to Siglufjörður, Iceland’s historic herring capital, then follow the scenic coastal road around Tröllaskagi Peninsula, passing fjords, ski areas, and farmlands. Arrive in Laugarbakki for overnight at a country hotel, with the option to watch the Northern Lights from September to April.

Today we explore Borgarfjörður in West Iceland, starting with a short hike to Grábrók volcano crater for panoramic views of the lava fields. Next, visit Reykholt to see Snorralaug, the historic hot spring pool, followed by Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring. Continue to Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls, then stop at Sturlureykir Horse Farm to meet and interact with Icelandic horses. The day ends with a scenic drive through Borgarfjörður countryside to Borgarnes for overnight, with opportunities to watch the Northern Lights in winter.

Today, your guide picks you up at 8 a.m. for a full-day tour of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, known as “Iceland in miniature.” Explore the coastal villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar, visit the 19th-century Búðakirkja church and natural Miðgjá rock arch, stroll through Snæfellsnes National Park with views of Snæfellsjökull Glacier, and enjoy the black pebble beach at Djúpalónssandur with its historic lifting stones. Stop at the iconic Kirkjufell Mountain before returning to Reykjavík around 8:00 p.m. for drop-off at your original pick-up location.
